Day 01: IN / DELHI

Day 02: SIGHTSEEING IN DELHI
After breakfast, accompanied by our guide, take a WALKING TOUR of historic Old Delhi starting at the Jama Masjid ? the largest mosque in Asia; proceed to Dariba Kalan ? the erstwhile metal market that has now mellowed down to a jewellery market; Kinari Bazaar ? where one might find clothes and decorations of all kinds for weddings of every faith; Parathewali Gali ? to taste stuffed bread from shops dating as far back as 1860 & 1875AD. Reach Chandni Chowk ? the Moonlight Piazza ? to board a CYCLE RICKSHAW to Khari Baoli ? Asia?s largest spice market for an insight into the spices that brought Europeans to Indian shores centuries ago. Here you may also purchase some spices if you so desire. Enjoy lunch (at your own charge) at Haldiram?s to taste some authentic Indian street food under hygienic conditions. Receive an insight into the Jain religion while waiting at the Jain Temple for our vehicle. Proceed to visit Bangla Sahib Gurudwara ? a living Sikh temple. Drive past the CAPITAL COMPLEX, comprising the impressive drive Raj Path that leads from the war memorial India Gate to the imposing President?s palace Rashtrapati Bhawan, flanked by the cupolas & towers of pink & buff Secretariat buildings – the center of all government activity. Close the day with a visit to the 12th century Qutub Complex ? the very first Islamic settlement in North India, where we see the Quwwat-ul-Islam mosque and the Qutub Minar ? for centuries, the tallest manmade structure in Delhi?s environs.

Day 03: DELHI / AGRA
After breakfast, check-out and depart for Agra (approx. 4hrs) ? erstwhile capital of the Mughal dynasty that ruled North India during 1526-1857AD. Upon arrival, check-in at the Hotel. In the afternoon, visit with our guide Itmad-ud-daulah ? tomb of the wazir & father-in-law of the 4th Mughal Jahangir ? which is affectionately also called as the Baby Taj on account of its profuse inlay work in marble; and Mehtab Bagh ? gardens laid out in the Charbagh style on the opposite bank of the river from the Taj Mahal, boasting superb photographic views of this pristine monument.

Day 04: In AGRA
As the sun rises, visit with our guide the UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the Seven Wonders of the World : the Taj Mahal. This architectural masterpiece in marble was erected by the 5th Mughal Emperor Shahjahan in the memory of his beloved wife, Arjumand Bano Begum, popularly known as Mumtaz Mahal, who died in AH 1040 (AD 1630). Her last wish to her husband was “to build a tomb in her memory such as the world had never seen before”. We recommend wearing dark coloured clothes on this visit, so as to show up well in contrast in your photographs, against the pristine whiteness of this monument. Return to hotel for breakfast. Later, see Agra Fort – stronghold of the Great Mughals for over 150 years, built in red sandstone and white marble over the reigns of 3 Emperors from 1565AD onwards. In the afternoon free for rest.

Day 05: AGRA / FATEHPUR SIKRI / JAIPUR
After breakfast, depart for Jaipur ? the Pink City and the capital of the state of Rajasthan. Enroute stop to visit with our guide Fatehpur Sikri, one of the Capitals of the Mughals, built by the 3rd Mughal Akbar during 1569-72AD ? now a ghost town in red sandstone, crystallizing within itself a fragment of Mughal spendour. Later, proceed to Jaipur, and check-in at the Hotel.

Day 06: JAIPUR
After an early breakfast, visit with our guide Hawa Mahal ? the Palace of Winds from behind whose latticed screens the Royal ladies once viewed ceremonial processions; and the Fortress Palace of Amber – former Capital of the Jaipur rulers till 1727AD. RIDE AN ELEPHANT from the parking lot to the fort gates atop a hill. This Fortress is among the best hilltop forts in India. Proceed for souvenir shopping, as Jaipur is the place to shop-till-one-drops for Persian Rugs, gemstones, handicrafts, paintings and hand block printed textiles, bed linen and table linen. In the afternoon, see the City Palace & Museum, ? erstwhile residence of the Jaipur royal family, now a museum including an impressive display of weapons & lifestyle artefacts; and Jantar Mantar ? the Royal Astronomical Observatory built along ancient astronomical principles in the 18th century.

Day 07: JAIPUR / DELHI / OUT
After a leisurely breakfast, drive (approx. 06 hrs with a midway pit-stop to use the restrooms) directly to Delhi International Airport to connect your flight back home.
