Welcome to Iceland. Upon arrival to Keflavik International Airport, an assistant will meet your group in the arrivals hall and accompany it to the hotel by private coach. Should your group arrive before the hotel’s official check-in time (generally 3:00 pm), you are more than welcome to store your baggage with the reception staff so that you can venture out and begin exploring the world’s most northern capital city. This evening your group will dine in the hotel’s restaurant.

Day 2:

After breakfast in the hotel, your group will set out on an invigorating day of golf and geothermal wellness. Travel southwest along Faxafloi Bay to the Reykjanes Peninsula, a mesmerizing terrain characterized by its hot springs, lava fields and geothermal activity. Today’s golfing will take place at Iceland’s Sudurnes Golf Club. Its Holmsvollur Course, one of Iceland’s most popular golf courses, is home to magnificent views of the coast and nearby mountains. This golf course (18 holes, par 72) is challenging for golfers of any handicap. On its par-3 hole “Bergvik,” the tee shot ball has to travel roughly 650 feet over sea to properly land on the green!

After an enjoyable day of golfing, you are in for a real treat: a relaxing dip in the Blue Lagoon, one of Iceland’s best tourist attractions. The lagoon’s striking, blue color results from the area’s high levels of silica and minerals. Your group will spend some time at the lagoon, soaking in its warm, mineral-rich geothermal waters. (Please note that facilities include modern changing rooms, showers, an indoor geothermal pool, a winter garden and dining facilities).

After returning to your hotel in Reykjavik, the rest of the day is free.

After breakfast and check-out, this morning your group will travel east by private coach to Pingvellir National Park (also spelled “Thingvellir”). This UNESCO World Heritage Site is home to the beautiful Pingvellir Lake, the largest natural lake in the country. It is also the site of the incredible Almannagja fault, and visitors can actually walk along the Mid-Atlantic ridge, where the North American and Eurasian tectonic plates meet. Also found inside Pingvellir National Park is the Althing (the Icelandic Parliament), which having been founded in 930 AD is one of the oldest national legislative assemblies in the world.

After the visit, your group will continue to the Kidjaberg Golf Course for another round of unforgettable golfing. Located alongside the picturesque “White River” (Hvita River), this course (18 holes, par 71) is particularly known for its scenery. Once finished, your group will head to the pretty village of Fluoir, your base for the next three nights. After another great day of golfing in Iceland, this evening you and your fellow travelers will dine together.

Day 4:

After breakfast in the hotel, this morning your group travel north by private coach to see Gullfoss; considered by many to be Iceland’s finest waterfall. You will then continue to the Great Geysir area, a terrain rife with boiling mud craters and erupting hot springs (including Strokkur, which spouts every few minutes). While in this truly remarkable part of Iceland, you will golf at the Geysir Golf Course, which is located next to the Great Geysir; so you’re likely to see an eruption or two while playing! The L-shaped course (9 holes, par 37) is known for the high quality of its fescue grass, and its holes follow the out-and-back pattern commonly found on historic courses like the Old Course at St Andrews.

Afterwards travel to the nearby Fontana Steam Baths for a well-deserved soak in the natural springs. This evening your group will dine at a local restaurant in or nearby Fluoir

Day 5:

After breakfast in the hotel, your group will travel to Iceland’s beautiful South Coast to board a ferry to the nearby Westman Islands (also spelled “Vestmannaeyjar”). An archipelago composed of 15 scenic islands, the Westman Islands were formed thousands of years ago as a result of volcanic eruptions. Today the island of Heimaey is the chain’s only inhabited island, and its Westman Islands Golf Course (Golfklubbur Vestmannaeyja) is one of Iceland’s most beautiful. Located in the Herjolfsdalur Valley, the course (18 holes, par 70) is home to striking views of dramatic cliffs, roaring waves, volcanic walls and fantastic putting greens.

Once your group has finished golfing, it will cruise around the island on a pleasant boat ride to see the somewhat-recently formed island of Surtsey Island (which only popped up in 1963), volcanic craters, and the world’s largest Atlantic Puffin colony. You will return this afternoon to the hotel in Fluoir and have time to freshen up before tonight’s group dinner.

After breakfast and check-out, your group will set out to learn more about some of this country’s most-famous residents: its Icelandic horses. This breed of horse evolved from horses that the original Viking settlers brought to Iceland from Scandinavia over a thousand years ago. Today these beautiful creatures have become symbolic of Iceland. Depending on your group’s preferences, you can opt to simply observe Iceland’s “Viking Horses” up close, or we can arrange for your group to have a relaxing horseback riding tour.

Afterwards your group will travel to the Porlakshofn Golf Course (also spelled “Thorlakshofn”) whose seaside links course (18 holes, par 72) lies along the South Shore’s spectacular black sandy beaches. Once you have finished golfing, your group will return to Iceland’s capital city of Reykjavik in the late afternoon.

Once you have checked in, enjoy an evening at leisure in Reykjavik.

Day 7:

After breakfast in the hotel, your group will set out on a morning sightseeing tour of Reykjavik, Iceland’s capital city. Over one third of Iceland’s citizens reside in Reykjavik, an impeccably clean, safe and green city (in the winter, even its sidewalks are heated by geothermal energy). The city is home to a wonderful variety of theatres, galleries, museums and restaurants.

Your guided tour (by private coach) will feature Reykjavik’s best sightseeing attractions; a fantastic blend of modern and historic; including the Old Town, Parliament, Reykjavik’s harbor front, Laugardalslaug Pool, the National Museum and the futuristic Perlan. As part of the tour, your group will visit the ??smundur Sveinsson Sculpture Museum as well as the iconic Hallgrimskirkja Church.

After a break for lunch, enjoy one last round of golf at the Reykjavik Golf Club, whose Grafarholt golf course is Iceland’s oldest 18-hole golf course (par 71). Many Nordic and European golf championships have taken place on this course, which is considered the most-difficult golf course in Iceland. It was designed to incorporate the area’s natural geographic features and fantastic vistas and is an excellent place to end an incredible week of golfing in Iceland.

Your last evening is free to enjoy Reykjavik.

Day 8:

After breakfast and check-out, your group will travel by private coach to Keflavik International Airport for its return flight to the US or Canada.
